"The most beautiful village in Switzerland"

Morcote has received several awards over the years. In 2023, it was recognized as "Best Tourism Villages" by the UNWTO (World Tourism Organization), among nearly 260 applications from over 60 countries. In 2016, it won the award for "The most beautiful village in Switzerland", a prize born out of a popular competition initiated by the weekly magazines Schweizer Illustrierte, L'Illustré, and Caffè, in partnership with the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR.

In the same year, Morcote became part of the "Most beautiful villages in Switzerland" (in Ticino, only 7 villages are recognized).

Morcote is also part of the 50 Swiss locations designated as "Beloved places" representing the cultural and architectural diversity of our country and are part of the Federal Inventory of Swiss settlements to be protected of national importance (ISOS).
